Acclaimed the world over, Vail and Beaver Creek combined boast nearly 6,300 skiable acres and over 320 trails. But that’s not all. The Vail Valley also offers exciting winter activities such as snowmobiling, sledding, tubing, ice skating, snowshoeing, snow-bike riding, and (yes!) hot-air ballooning. Be sure to check out our summer activities as well.
Cordillera offers an ice skating rink just 5 minutes from the Lodge. Skate rentals are available and complimentary hot beverages are served. Lights allow for night skating as well, and a sound system is provided to play your own music while you skate!
Cordillera Ice Skating rink is open weather permitted between mid- December & end of February, hours of opening weather depended as well. Please contact Guest Services for more information.
Skiing: Vail/Beaver Creek
Vail and Beaver Creek offer some of the best skiing in the world. Guests can enjoy the luxurious amenities of our private mountain clubs located at the base of Beaver Creek and Vail. For all your ski & snowboard equipment and gear head to Christy Sports where Lodge guests receive a 20% discount (with flyer or room key). The Beaver Creek Christy Sports is conveniently located across from the ski-in/ski-out Beaver Creek Cordillera Club! Ski rentals can also be organized in the privacy of your own room before hitting the slopes–please contact Guest Services for details.
Skier Shuttle Schedule
Our guest shuttles transport guests during the daytime to the Cordillera Mountain Club at Beaver Creek as well as the Vail Gondola Club. Please contact Guest Services to sign up for the shuttle or for further details.
*Access to the Vail Gondola Club is obtained by signing up with the front desk ahead of time. There is an additional daily charge of $40 per two people to use the club.
Advance shuttle reservations are recommended to ensure availability.
Enjoy a horse drawn sleigh ride and dinner in the Vail Valley.
Enjoy snowshoeing on one of The Cordillera community private trails. Additional trails found throughout the Vail Valley and at Beaver Creek.
Experience a snowmobile tour through the scenic backcountry of Colorado. Tours range from a two-hour tour, including a hot cocoa break, to a full day of playing in the “powder stashes” and cruising the high ridges at over 10,000 feet. Nova Guides offers tours and rentals at Camp Hale, a historic World War II Alpine training camp. Sage Outdoor Adventures will take you into National Forest just north of Wolcott.
